From Andy Stephens:
I’m pleased to be pinch-hitting for our amazing president this month. Kate Stephenson and Jim McClave are on a honeymoon adventure in Peru. We congratulate them on their nuptials and wish them a safe and happy trip.
These newsletters generally focus on what happened last month—and that’s good for me, because September is my favorite month. It’s cooler but not cold, the leaves are starting to turn, the summer crowds have gone home, and the winter visitors haven’t yet arrived. This is our time, and there’s nowhere I’d rather be.
It’s also an exceptionally busy time, as you’ll see below.
**New Website**
We’re happy to announce that our new website is now live! You can find it at www.pcmsc.com
The new site features:
- Enhanced security, with access to members-only pages
- Instant Directory searches by first and/or last name
- Easier Calendar searches, with filters for one or more activities
- Smartphone apps to find activities and pull up their addresses
- Simple registration for activities and events, when required
You’ll still receive the Weekly Events emails and can check the Activity Calendar as usual.
A huge thank-you goes out to the PCMSC web team— Bill Hertzing, Lule Saturnia, Rich Marx, Steve Rosenbaum, Jennifer Gurss, Bjorn Liencres, Lisa Power, and Sophia Lucey— for all the work they’ve done to develop and launch the new site.
The site is under continuous development, and the team plans to send out updates and “tips and tricks” via email and newsletter articles as they become available.
Special Thank You
The current and past PCMSC Boards, and, we’re sure, all of our members, would be remiss if we didn’t give a very special thank-you to Jeri Brooke, who built and managed our previous website for so many years.
Jeri devoted countless hours to keeping the site current and making sure members had the information they needed. Her work behind the scenes played an important role in the growth and success of PCMSC and helped keep our members connected as the Club evolved over the years.
As we move to our new website, we want to recognize everything Jeri has done and express our sincere appreciation for her many years of dedication to PCMSC. Thank you, Jeri!

PCMSC Superstars
It takes a lot to keep all the PCMSC activities going. Thanks also to Caryn Harkins and Jennifer Gurss, who lead Knit & Stitch throughout the year, and Michelle Sammartino who led the Mah Jongg program for PCMSC.
Apology
We apologize for any Club-sanctioned events that conflicted with religious holidays. We’ll be more cognizant of these dates going forward.
Volunteers Needed!
PCMSC is looking for a few more volunteers to lead or co-lead weekly ski groups at either Park City, Canyons, or Deer Valley. All level leaders are welcome. Please contact Diane Gower at dianemgower@gmail.com for details if you are interested. We would love to have you join in.
Save the Date: Annual Halloween Party Friday, October 30
Birthdays in October (requires log-in)
Final Thoughts
It will be October by the time you read this. There are already a ton of activities coming up. We’re especially looking forward to Zion Week (October 11–16, 2026) and the annual Halloween Party on October 30.
It turns out that October is my second favorite month. I’m sad to see the hummingbirds and the sandhill cranes go, but the aspens are at their peak, and those chilly nights offer a hint of what’s to come. Time to get the skis tuned and start those planks and leg blasters.
Yours, Andy Stephens, Guest Editor
